Agricultural Chemical Collection Events Agricultural chemical collection events or "Clean Sweeps" were held in Cayuga County in 2002 and 2003. Clean Sweep 2002 Clean Sweep 2003 Held 10/30 and 10/31 Held 11/18 and 11/19 22 farms, retired farms or former farms and 1 school participated 12 farms, retired farms or former farmsteads, 2 schools, and 2 golf courses participated 8,600 pounds were collected 8,000 pounds were collected Sponsored by the Cayuga County Legislature, Solid Waste Management Program Office, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Soil & Water Conservation District, and Department of Planning and Development. Funded through grants from the NYS Department of Ag and Markets and US Environmental Protection Agency.
