America Recycles Day Electronics Event

Cayuga County and the City of Auburn are joining forces to offer Cayuga County and City of Auburn residents an America Recycles Day home electronics recycling event.

Date, Time, Place:


  • Saturday, November 14, 2009

  • Running from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

  • Located at the City of Auburn Landfill at 311 North Division Street, Auburn.

Fees:

  • $5 fee for each computer monitor.

  • $5 fee for each television. Limit 2 televisions per household.

  • All other electronics are FREE!


Acceptable Household Electronics Include:

  • Computers and Monitors

  • Computer Accessories

  • Printers

  • Circuit Boards

  • Terminals

  • TV's (Limit 2)

  • Microwaves

  • Audio/Visual Equipment

  • Fax Machines

  • Typewriters

  • Telecom Equipment

  • Cell Phones

  • Cables and Wiring

  • Electronic Scrap

  • Video Game systems (for example Nintendo or Sega systems)

Not Accepted
  • Fluorescent Bulbs (future event)

  • Kitchen or personal appliances (toasters, hairdryers, etc.)

  • Freon appliances (future event)

This event is sponsored by the City of Auburn, Cayuga County Solid Waste Management Office (Cayuga Recycles), Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, and Cayuga County Department of Planning and Economic Development.

Funding is provided by the Cayuga County Legislature and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation with a special grant from NUCOR Steel Auburn.
