![]() Home Electronics, Small Freon Appliances, Fluorescent Bulbs and Propane Cylinder Recycling Event: Natural Resource Center MAY 15, 2010 This spring all residents of Cayuga County and the City of Auburn are invited to participate in the 2010 Home Electronics and Propane Collection Event. The event presents an excellent opportunity to discard materials in a safe manner. Proper disposal protects human health, our community and the environment. The materials collected at this event will be recycled to the fullest extent possible by our contractors. Date, Time, Place:

Sponsors and Funding: This event is sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, Cayuga County Solid Waste Management Program Office, Cayuga County Department of Planning and Economic Development and hosted by the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District. Funding for the event is provided by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Cayuga County and Nucor Steel-Auburn. Additional Information and Hints Time: To avoid waiting in line, do not come early. Arriving early, or arriving close to 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 or noon means you will wait in line longer. Large freon appliances: We do not take them here to avoid back injuries. Our freon removal and recycling contractor, Finger Lakes Recycling (FLR) Facility, is located at 2810 Trombley Road in Weedsport. You can bring large freon appliances to them directly and still pay only $5 from May 1 to May 31.
