On its way to the Lake, Dutch Hollow Brook flows through the hamlets of Kelloggsville, Niles and Owasco. These very small villages are characterized by low-density residential housing.

Slade Store about 1877.  This building still stands in Kelloggsville.

As the Brook flows through the wide, gentle valley between the hamlets of Niles and Owasco, much of the riparian area has been converted to cropland. Corn, soybeans, hay, wheat, oats, rye, pasture, dairy and beef cattle are the primary focus of farmers along the Brook.
